What is the difference between a residential and commercial search?
Home » Products » FAQs » What is the difference between a residential and commercial search?
The main difference is usually the size of property or land that is covered in the search, as well as the type of use. Residential searches are for properties that people live in, whilst commercial searches are for buildings or pieces of land that are used in a commercial capacity e.g. warehouses, garages, petrol stations, offices etc. The search will reveal the same level of information but may cover more topics within the search.
The other difference is the cost; because a larger area of land or size of property is covered the cost of a commercial search is usually more expensive than a residential search on a like for like basis.
